Suzanne: Creator/ Author
Suzanne has been an educator for over 25 years specializing in Early Childhood Education and children’s music and movement. She has a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in Performance.
Suzanne started her career as a ballet dancer, graduating with a BA honors in Performance Arts. After college she became involved in the field of health and wellness. She created, developed, and taught a children’s music and movement program. After moving to the US in the early 1990’s Suzanne started teaching music, movement, and drama in both public and private schools. She completed her Early Childhood Education units and transitioned into teaching preschool curriculum. Suzanne has taught in a number of preschools over the past 25 years including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and traditional.
Suzanne’s teaching style has always been to create fun creative activities that children will love. She uses elements from traditional preschool education and guidelines, integrating Montessori, and Reggio Emilia philosophies to promote individualized learning and exploration within our teaching program. She creates learning materials that are creative and will promote exploration, discussion and open ended learning. There are many alternatives within the program that will extend the learning and can be used to adjust the materials to the individual learning stages of each child.
In 1996, Suzanne’s music and movement program won a “Make Fitness Happen” Educational Opportunity Grant, awarded by IDEA, the International Association of Fitness and has performed in dance, drama, and theater.
Suzanne is a member of the National Association for Education of Young People (NAEYC).
